POPPY PLAYGROUPS

POPPY playgroup was established in 2011 in response to a critical gap identified in supported playgroups for mothers with mental health issues and other complex needs. POPPY playgroup aims to specifically engage marginalised mothers who have a lived experience of mental health distress who are either isolated, single, and or experiencing domestic family violence or who are from a culturally and linguistically diverse background who would benefit from supported psychoeducation, in addition to parenting support.

It runs every Monday during the School term at the Kingsgrove Community Aid Centre in 30 Morgan Street Kingsgrove from 10 am to 12 pm.

Referrals are accepted from health professionals and other organisations and as well as self-referrals.

Thank you to our supporters for this program who partner with Kingsgrove Community Aid Centre Inc: St George and Sutherland Mental Health Service of the South Eastern Sydney Local Health District, STRIDE for Better Care, Department of Communities and Justice, Big Sister Foundation.
